Clappers Lane is part of sports complex in the village of Gresford, on the outskirts of Wrexham.

On entering the ground you will first come across the most recent addition to the ground; the Jonnie Ratcliffe Stand. This smart, modern stand was opened in 2018 and is named after a local footballer and Gresford player who sadly passed away in 2008.

It was closed on my visit (it was pre-season), but it was pleasing to see that it has been built with the cages on the front that keep vandals out. Too many Welsh clubs recently have unfortunately suffered from local youths breaking into grounds and senselessly smashing seats up.

Down one side you have a small covered stand that is split in two between seating and standing, and sits on the halfway line. Either side of this are the two dugouts.

Behind the other goal is just grass with pitch railings, and down the other side is just grass but this time only rope separating the spectators from the pitch! Beyond this and another 150 yards or so away is a building which houses the changing rooms, a snack shop and toilets.
